great northern retirement blues

by erinohsays

Performing with two 80 year old men at Great Northern Retirement Home in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. My Nana (Dad’s mum) just moved in a few days ago. I went to visit her and joined the band that performs there every Friday. They just happened to have an extra cowboy hat which they insisted I wear. We played a few Johnny Cash covers, Hallelujah I’m a Bum, Worried Man Blues, Goodnight Ladies, and some others that I’d never heard of before. At the end of the performance (about 12 songs) I pointed out my Nana in the audience and said, “That’s Evelyn Flint! My Nana!” and everyone cheered. Photos taken by my Uncle Jack.
